Party, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

      MP: $8.66 (86.6 bb)
      CO: $11.61 (116.1 bb)
      BB: $10.35 (103.5 bb)
      Hero (SB): $10 (100 bb)
      BTN: $12.64 (126.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9 J
MP calls $0.10, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.50, BB folds, MP calls $0.40

just wondering if preflop should i be just completing with this hand or is it ok to raise despite being oop and perhaps dominated by like Q9,K9, QJ, KJ type hands?

      Hello,

It's fine to do that move, as long as your opponent is willing to fold on isolation bet. He also has a lot of worse hands in his range and hands that rarely iimprove, so you usually take the pot by cbetting the flop.

i would rather iso this hand ip rather than oop. also, since villain seems fishy, he can easily limp call with lots of hands that actually have us dominated like JT/QJ/KJ/Q9/K9 etc.

      Hello legand73,

Both options are fine, depends on your postflop skill and understanding the opponent. :) If rather weak postlfop then completing is better for you.

      Best Regards.
