      Hey,

Is it okay to bet the turn for value from draws?

54/32/25h villain. 2/3 foldtocbet so far.

If he has top pair I have still some equity...

Bad board for barreling, and we dont have backdoor equity either. I'd rather checkbehind flop, and give up.

      It's not a bluff, it's for value.

OK, I'd say it in a different way... Hit a pair, and bet that for value... :)

Basically put in more money in spots where you win often, and less money where you dont.

You dont stand good equitywise even against a wider ch/call range, and you dont have many ways to improve.

      Hello Farmarchist,

Okay, lets put you on practice. Give me a range against you think you are betting for value. :) Of course we also have to include made hands from his range.

      Best Regards.

      - Let out A9 (some combo's of 9x he could check/raise the flop with)
      - Put in only a few SC that is overs+FD because I assume he's check/raising most of them

      Hmmm 33%

We can only valuebet if we have 50%+?

You value bet when think you are ahead of your opponent. But you shouldn't think if this is a value bet or not. You need to think if this move will be +EV in the long run.

The only way this will be +EV is when you expect the opponent to fold enough of his range to your cbet and if you extract enough money out of him when you hit.

Now a lot of the opponents range won't fold on this board because this flop really hit his range nicely. Also even if you hit with A or T you can't know if you are ahead and might loose even more money on later streets.

So I also wouldn't cbet the flop.

I think betting the flop is standard because we protect our equity + we gain ourselves a free rivercard... Sometimes we bet even for value. With position you should CB looser...

Correct but as you analyzed above you see that there ain't really a value-bet on the turn as you said. :)
