Given the read, it is a perfect spot, because he must be holding trash on the river, and still you beat nothing at a showdown.

I call K high vs this 3barrel with that betsize on that board 100%. So if you see me and want to own my soul, 3barrel me in that spot.
Why? Your range is polarized at the time we are at the river and you bet. You will either check back weak aces (you should) or bet bigger on the turn to prevent reraises or calldowns by big draws or air. AK/AQ you will always bet on the turn. With AJ/AT there is no sense in betting the turn oop. On the river your handrange is AK/AQ or air. Since my line looks weak to you, you will check/shove the river with an A (since nothing else is calling you) or betting your bluffs.

@hova: I agree with the last part (well, that's how it would be played most times at least), but his river range isn't AK/AQ/bluff. I think you can easily include any ace, and J8-KJ. but then again I don't play hu ^^

w/o additional info discussing this hand is pointless

except some standard things, like bet more preflop, bet more flop

You're right, fwiw villain could be a total moron that plays call flop, call turn, fold 90% rivers. i have had such opponents in HU cashgame sometimes :) Then betsizing and play makes sense.

meh i feel ridiculous about that post I obv was drunk and tried to stack a fish at NL400 X(

I agree that 3barrel was awful, but I felt so proud at the moment. i guess it can't be so bad given the reads I had on him :D

oh well at least I didn't lose anything

How do you guys even get to the computer when drunk? Lately I've heard about some pokerplayers having problems keeping away from the computer when they are drunk, i don't know why :D

      Here's a sick story i've read http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthread.php?t=215819

i would def. take it easy, especially drunk
HU is very different from sh and even some weak players may be tough to beat

Im too lazy to post a graph, but when i was making a transition from sh to HU, i've lost 19 stacks in 2k hands, playing the weakest possible players i could find)
      (beeing sober :P )

I played only around 30k hands hu so far, but this experience is enough for me to keep myself away from higher limits (untill i win enough in hu), even though i have a bankroll for it)

I think you know everything yourself, just wanted to point how ugly it can turn

@hova btw, which limits do you play?

Depends. Most likely not. It is often the best hand if we check down, but i don't defend Kx. KQ i will raise the flop and KJ I will call you down anyways.

@xylere atm i don't play much any more. 6max lowstakes NL if I'm bored. I lost my roll and motivation to play in Feb 08. I do still use my cardrunners and leggo and DC accounts though and coach friends, analyse hands etc. because I like poker theory.

yeah I would've bet that you saw that krantz vs xorbie HU video on DC, where krantz makes the calldown w/ 99 on a similar board except his hand isn't counterfeited on the river. (that random hand pretty much blew my mind)

I once lost 888 $ in an hour when I played drunk, FL 10/20 and 15/30
At the time, it was 40 % of my bankroll :D
I played all week like crazy to make up for that and luckily I did but I learned my lesson :D
