      Hello!

Is it ok to fold in that spot? I don't want to go broke with AKs against unknown. Should I? Is it better to just call preflop?

Once you 4-bet you should go with the hand. Why turn such a good hand into a bluff preflop?

If you don't plan to go broke simply call preflop and play postflop.

      Thank you!

I believe you ment 3-bet, because I 3-bet/fold that hand. The opponent 4-bet.

Is it ok to 3-bet/fold AK in some situations, when we don't expect to be ahead against opponent's 4-bet range? Or we should always call with this if we don't plan to go broke?

Well, if he 4-bets and you are 100bb deep and you think he can go broke find, 5-bet it. We can't flat.

If he 3-bets you can 4-bet or fold. Folding is not wrong, if you know that he is a nit and doesn't 3bet a lot.

      Hi Alleen86,

You are right, for some reason I thought we 4-bet.

You can 3-bet/fold AK but at that point you are turning your hand into a bluff.

There are some exceptions to this.

Let's assume that we have a villain that calls all broadaways, pairs, suited connectors, etc and 4-bet only premiums (QQ+, AK). In cases like this you can 3-bet versus his calling range and against his 4-bet range we cannot shove profitably.

However in most cases the above is not true and I prefer to just call AK than turn it into a bluff.
