      Hero (BTN): $28.74
      SB: $10.32
      BB: $18.80
      UTG: $25.00
      MP: $30.77
      CO: $12.25

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BTN with K :diamond: Q :diamond:
1 fold, MP raises to $0.75, 1 fold, Hero raises to $2.50, 2 folds, MP calls $1.75

      Flop: ($5.35) 4 :club: 9  K  (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $2.85, MP calls $2.85

      Turn: ($11.05) J  (2 players)
      MP checks, Hero checks

      River: ($11.05) 8 :spade: (2 players)
      MP bets $4, Hero folds

I don't know why I 3Bet, but calling should be the preferable option preflop imo.

Anyway, as played, what about checking behind on the flop? I don't see many weaker hands calling and we don't have that much to protect from.

I am also a bit bothered by his river bet - looks like a thin valuebet and I am not sure I ever beat anything that he bets thinly for value there.

      Hello Avatars91,

Well, you are 3betting so you should also know why you 3betting. You can't just 3bet and then say to yourself "I don't know why I did that".

About your play either to CB or what to do is mainly also dependent what was the reason for 3betting in first place. According to that we either CB it for value or not. Though if you do that then most likely Bet also the turn to avoid bets on the river. If we Check the turn then it's a give-up.

      Best Regards.

The 3Bet is obviously not great as I probably can't do it for value and it is more like a bluff.

Thus should check behind on the flop?

As usually in those spots when you 3betting should be rather for value, so we clearly should be CBetting for value. Otherwise would be just a mistake rather preflop turning this kind of strong hand into bluff.
