      Hey,

Villain looked solid over a small sample so far. He did bet 0/1 on the turn so I chose to float here on the flop. Is this ok? He showed up with 99 in the end.

      CO: $26.45
      BTN: $22.67
      SB: $30.06
      Hero (BB): $26.52
      UTG: $26.03

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BB with J :club: A :spade:
3 folds, SB raises to $0.62, Hero calls $0.37

      Flop: ($1.24) 4 :diamond: 8 :club: Q :diamond: (2 players)
SB bets $0.88, Hero calls $0.88

      Turn: ($3.00) 3 :diamond: (2 players)
      SB checks, Hero checks

      River: ($3.00) J :diamond: (2 players)
      SB checks, Hero checks

In this hand I think he reps really narrow on the river because he would check behind most of his Ax. Or should we just fold cause we don't know he is capable of 3 barreling? (he had 55)

I think that looking to the first hand we def. should fold the river actually because he didn't even barrel BvB (had 0/1 turnbet so far). So the question becomes: is this a turncall?

      Hey,

      1) I quite like a small 3bet here vs most players, vs solid tightish players, calling seems good, we have position + skill he can have the initiative.... for now ;)

I think the flop should be a fold, we have some potential reverse implied odds with the A and the J, the board smashes his range. I just usually fold these boards, if the flop was Q44 then I would call. Q82 just has too many draws that the hands we dominate on Q44 have good equity + future fold equity vs us.

      2) 3bet for value? Small sample and as a default, I thnk 3betting is going to be the best line in a vacuum for the reasons spoken about in the previous threads.

The thing with the river decision is that he doesn't just as Aq+ as a value range, because hes on the button he can have k4o in his range, I think I just fold the river as played and dont worry about these guys barreling you off hands, if they are super aggro then fine, but these guys playing a relatively nitty style wont be constrantly abusing and exploiting you.

Well, I don't really 3bet AJ, ATs, KQ, KJs vs players who look rother solid cause:
      - They are not calling many dominated hands
      - They are instead fighting back by 4betting (would suck).

      Am I wrong? :)

      Hey,

Yeah vs most players as I said in the next sentence vs the tighter players I prefer calling ;)

"calling seems good, we have position + skill he can have the initiative.... for ow"

We can go for value here on the 3bet, they will still call pcoket pairs and some sutied hands that we can win with a cbet on the flop. We shold extend our value range a little bit than just premiums. Most people are playing with HUD's these days and can see if somebody is only 3betting 1010+

People usually 4bet QQ+ ak+ so we dont want to worry about being dominated when we're called :)
