Hero shows two pairs, jacks and fives(Jh Jc).
BU shows two pairs, kings and fives(Kc Kh).

BU wins with two pairs, kings and fives(Kc Kh).

It seems like I'm doing a very poor job on handling this hot zone war.

I played accoring to the chart and just got crushed.

His VPIP/FPR was 18/0 after 62 hands but.... 62 hands seems too small a sample size to me.....

But the thing is he took the funky line.

Should I be able to get away from this situation with 50bb?

Playing as a midstack you do have to in a bit lighter (preflop).

Even though he has played tight so far I do agree with you that the sample is too small. On top of that he is the cold caller preflop which means that he is less likely to have that many premium hands. So going with the hand is the best solution.
