I'd probably bet here because you don't want to give villain free cards and because you'd probably cbet this flop if you didn't have an ace in your hand unless you think villain will always bet after a missed cbet.

To me not cbetting a flop with an ace screams strength and by cbetting you'll let your opponent to make an mistake with his worse hand.

Smallish sample however he seems a bit aggro.

If we bet can we expect to get value from anything that wouldn't put money in if we checked? For example I can see Ax losing a lot of money here either way.

Good question. Well, I think that he's not stupid, so everything less then Ax fold here. It's only a very small part of his range, since 3 aces are already known. So better to ch.c flop, or if he checks behind, we bet turn something like 1$

A 29/13 looks fishy to me which means that I would assign more Ax hands in his range (for calling preflop) than lets say a 19/17 guys.

I also think that checking allows him to take a stab at the pot with his wider range and if he checks back he usually either gives up (and may catch something on the turn) or is looking to get to showdown in which case we can easily valuebet turn.
