Hello, I picked up one of my old hands, which I think played terribly :f_biggrin:

Party, $0.02/$0.04 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

      BTN: $2.49 (62.3 bb)
      CO: $7.83 (195.8 bb)
      MP: $4.11 (102.8 bb) VPIP: 17, PFR: 13, 3B: 8, AF: 16.0, WTSD: 25(20) Hands: 132
      BB: $3.50 (87.5 bb)
      Hero (SB): $4 (100 bb)
      UTG: $4.12 (103 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with T A
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.16, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.14, BB folds

I guess this is main mistake. Call is dreadful. :f_biggrin: Better would be 3bet/fold or fold.

      Flop: ($0.36) A 7 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $0.20, Hero calls $0.20

      As played, ch/r?

      Turn: ($0.76) 8 (2 players)
      Hero checks, MP checks

      River: ($0.76) J (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $0.40, Hero calls $0.40

      $1.56 pot ($0.07 rake)
      Final Board: A 7 8 8 J
      MP showed Q A and won $1.49 ($0.73 net)
Hero mucked T A and lost (-$0.76 net)

As you said, calling here is bad preflop.
Our hand is so much dominated, also we are OOP and we are going to play without the initiative = loosing money.
      So I'd rather fold here.

Check/calling the flop is fairly standard.
I don't like check/raising since we are going to isolate ourselves mainly against better hands.

As played on flop and turn, I want to bet the river myself and expect a call from QQ-KK.
