Prima, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

      SB: $12.45 (124.5 bb)
      Hero (BB): $10 (100 bb)
      MP: $11.32 (113.2 bb)
      CO: $10.01 (100.1 bb)
      BTN: $9.13 (91.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A Q
MP folds, CO calls $0.10, BTN raises to $0.30, SB folds, Hero calls $0.20, CO calls $0.20

      Flop: ($0.95) 2 5 Q (3 players)
Hero checks, CO checks, BTN bets $0.40, Hero calls $0.40, CO folds

      Turn: ($1.75) A (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $2.60, Hero folds

I was beginning to level myself thinking why he'd overbet turn if he had a flush since he'd want to go for value.

The reason I just called preflop is to keep weaker hands that I dominate like KQ in the hand and get max value from them else I would have 3bet preflop.

So on the flop I wanna get value from hands like KQ, JQ which is why I didn't x/r flop and decided to call for value.

      Hello,

      Preflop I prefer 3betting here.

      Check/calling the flop is fine.
Raising is an option, but then we don't want to face a 3bet and also we have a player behind us.

I don't mind check/folding the turn against this overbet.
Usually people rarely overbet as a bluff and I am having a hard time seeing him playing like that with worse.

      Best,
      Plamen

Why do you think 3betting>calling preflop?

Well this is a good question here.

I think 3betting here is better because:
      - we can win the pot right here - quite a lot of dead money in the pot we would love to take
      - we can get called by worse
      - we take the initiative and don't get to play OOP without the initiative in a possible 3way pot

I'd 3b this pre because I hate to play OOP in a multiway pot without initiative. It makes future streets a lot harder.

As played post I think I'd play it the same way. Half pot flop and overbet Turn just seems like such a value line...

Depending on opponent we could x/r flop, if you know he plays his draws aggressively we could even get it in.
