OTF, i decided to check behind and call turn bet.

On this turn? I think he is betting Qx. He might check Ax. He also have some lower PP. Should i bet for value vs. PP?

As played, i think i must call the river.

I usually prefer betting the turn. I think he calls just about any pair and I don't think he bluffs river often. By betting the turn I just set myself the price I want really. In this case I would bet about the same as he did so it's no difference for you but think of when the river is T, J or club and he bets 3.50. Not as easy of a call and definitely his range is not bad there since he is sure you don't have Ax, trips, flush or straight.
