I thought raising flop with 4 players there would have showed way too much strength and make even aces escape, so I called.
Turn, we are left in 2 and he checks, I thought even if he has an A, he probably won't call a bet on turn AND river (am I wrong?), so I decided to check behind to induce bluff on river and make him call with more will in case he had the A.
      Thoughts?

I agree with flop play but at the same time you have to be willing to accept that you lose the pot a bit more often when you just call there but in return you win more money.

On the turn I think it's a bet actually. I don't really think he folds an Ace on the turn plus there are still some 89, T9, JT, KT type hands that might call again, maybe a few flushdraws as well. I don't think weak hands call more often on the river, you basically need to hit a good river like that 7 was, else too many cards are scare cards.
