This mistake I repeated often before. When I hit A on flop, with weak kicker as here, I tend not to cbet, because I think I mostly isolate myself against better hand, so I check and hope he bluffs onces or twice and gives up.
But often it is so wrong as in this situation, he bluffs, and hits set on turn, and value bets. I called turn because I thought turn is a scare card, so he tries one more time to bluff, and I planned to fold river if he bets. And river I call because it is very likely he didnt have better Ax, so I could win only against bluff here.

So should I always cbet A even with weak kicker? And what if they call me, check fold turn? Especially is hard if there draw, so I am not sure if I am value betting or not.

      Hi mlatasrb,

      Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: Flop bet would be fine for thin value/protection. Playing ck/call against unknown is far from ideal because you never really know what he can bet for value or as a bluff.

I'd bet fold the flop and ck/fold that turn.

As played the A on the river changes nothing really except that it reduces the number of Ax hands he can have. However if we were behind on the turn we are still behind now (except to some unlikely hands like 43s). So river should be a ck/fold as you planed however I'd ck/fold that turn.
