Less than 100 bb deep, can we justify a tight fold there?

Usually when players do this instant shove its a pair.

Hi Elchipriota,

Preflop: Insta shoving can also mean a hand like AQ/AK that doesn't want to get called if the raise is smaller.

This question here comes down to the math.

You get X pot odds and you have Y equity versus a range. Is Y bigger than X? If so we can call.

The reason I didn't give you the numbers is because this would make a great exercise for you.

I recommend you calculate X and various Ys and post them here.

So if I assign him a range of TT+,AQs+,AKo vs my AK i have a 42,8% equity.

But I need a 43,7% therefore this is unprofitable even if he has AQ in his reshove range which I doubt.

If I give him a range of TT+,AKs,AKo then Ihave 40,39%
