I would raise flop for value vs such a guy.

As played, check. You called to induce bluffs and light bets, right? Well, if you bet now, you always have a good hand, possibly a flush as well. You basically never have air. The only thing that would make me change my mind is a very high WTSD of villain in which case you can probably still value bet.

Why would you try to make him fold one specific hand when his range contains some better hands as well? It has to be higher EV for you to try and bluff him off AQ (which is so unlikely) than you get value from other hands or valuetown yourself.

If you do think you can get him off AQ, it's with an overbet or a check/raise imo, not with a normal bet but keep in mind that's to make him fold a split so he folds worse hands as well while calling so many better hands.

I think a set could definitely check back when the flush gets there and some low flushes can also check back. The reason of betting to make him fold AQ is not enough. You need to weigh all his range not just a hand he could have.

Depends. You can't play all your hands the same way against everybody. Against some it might be good against some it might not be as good.

I have no information on how you play or how he perceives you to say if checking back a set is good there.
