Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

      CO: $0.67 (33.5 bb)
      Hero (BTN): $2.16 (108 bb)
      SB: $3.40 (170 bb)
      BB: $1.60 (80 bb)
      MP: $2.97 (148.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 9 9
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.06, SB folds, BB raises to $0.18, Hero calls $0.12

      Flop: ($0.37) 2 4 6 (2 players)
      BB bets $0.50, Hero folds

Can I call with pocket nines IP and play postflop? It's not really set-mining, I expect to be ahead quite often.

Do we fold the flop without any reads? Later in the session I saw this guy overbetting with complete trash, but I didn't know it here.

I'd fold this pre-flop against his stack-size, we don't have set-mining odds and it's not profitable to play on NL2 without them against (m)any opponents.

As played, if you call that 3-bet you will go broke on flops like this, even if he is overbetting, because that is your only plan if you don't fold or 4-bet pre. This is the best flop you got - go for it.

Call is standard even 80bb is sufficiently deep to defend this.

Readless i call a small cbet but i do not mind folding to this overbet. With your future read i would call.

      Thanks mbml.

@CPallo, imo, the problem with folding here is that we are playing 6-max and we have 99 (not 22). 99 is a quite strong hand, and the problem with playing it for set-mine only, is that loose players (6-max) won't just pay you off when you hit your set (because they play loose and rarely hit big). That's why you need to play postflop with your pockets from time to time, and 99 IP is the perfect spot for it.
