Villain 40/11 0% 3bet on the 90 hands I had on him at the time.

Is it alright to call preflop? Where should we be folding here?

      Hi Clickbox,

Preflop: Are we calling here simply to set mine? Sample is still small but villain seems on the tighter/passive side so even if we call to play postflop I'd probably not call 3 streets versus someone like him unless you have any reason to expect AK to play like this.

Yeah, that's why I asked about the preflop call as well. I'm not really sure it's worth calling?

Postflop I doubt he's 3 barreling anything other than JJ+ here, so really looks like a fold (on the turn?).

Would it be better to fold preflop here to avoid these 'messy spots' postflop? He's not squeezing very big preflop though, and what I forgot to specify in my opening post, is that BTN was also a fishy player with 30-35ish VPIP, so we can probably expect him to call quite often as well.

Considering he 3-bet from BB to UTG which is usually mostly value I would have to say that this is closer to a fold preflop. Even for set mining itself (rule of 20) you can't really call.

I'd expect that if he bets the turn to bet the river often so we either call turn/river or just fold turn.
