Who am I?

I am a 28 year old guy from Belgrade, Serbia. Finished my studies couple of years ago by majoring in finances and banking on a private university, but never had any intentions on pursuing that career. My real love and occupation is folk dancing (you will understand in later phase of my blog). I love all kinds of card games and gambling as well.

Real life...

So, as I stated, I finished my studies but that doesn't have anything to do with my current occupation. I am employed as special events manager at Talija Art co., a folk dance group performing all sorts of stage arts and entertainment, besides national folk dances.
Why folk dancing? Of course it I was led to it by my parents who were dancers as well, but mainly as it was the only way to travel outside of my country during the 90s (wars, UN sanctions, poorness, etc.) I am so happy for that because I had the opportunity to travel almost all over the world, visit all the continents (except for the "Land down under", still in my plans in the next few years), and meet great people of different nationality, culture, religion, languages...
Sneak peak (jump to about 5th minute)

This is from the European handball championship 2012

Or just dances

Also from Belgrade Arena performing for Novak Djokovic's charity event

Before my current job, I used to do all kinds of part time jobs, mainly to prove to myself that I could do it, and to have money for beer ( I will mention beer a lot in my blog...).
I am happily (could it be written any other way) married, since last year, w/o kids at the moment...

Poker stuff...

As stated in the beginning, I love all kinds of card games, and gambling as well. When you travel with a folk group, sometimes you spend more than 20 hours in a bus, or a train, or any kind of transportation, and besides drinking, you need to find a way to "kill" some time or you will die of boredom, so we played cards, dices etc. As a kid what I knew about poker was simple 5 card draw, what beats what, and royal flush rulz... Bought a computer game Hoyle Casino and that was the first time I saw Texas, Omaha and Stud. At a friend`s house saw him playing holdem on Stars, and instantly downloaded the software and started playing for play money. Soon after got a facebook app Zynga poker, and played for fun there as well, and got into millions of cash in no time ( classic stuff 72o, all in, I will hit that deuce and win). Deposited something like 50$ on stars, and managed to survive for months, mainly playing 1$ or 2$ SnGs, and then BOOM got a TAF mail to join PS (some guys are giving away dollars for solving a 20Qs Quiz) solved it and got 50$ on Full Tilt and got addicted to full tilt academy, I think I learned a lot from those scammer pros. Started playing cash games, never bothered with NL2, NL5 jumped to NL10 with 5BI bankroll (what bankroll management, that's for fishes (how clueless I was??? (still am!!!))). Strangely, did not go busto for long, started opening 2,3,4 tables and built my bankroll to 200$ (still have that proud PrtScn).

And then came Rush poker and Rush week, managed to lose 150$ and win 50$ bonus (irony?) and until black Friday had about the same amount as when I started (but since I never deposited, I lost a lot of money due to not receiving any rakeback from Tilt). Took a chance at WH, then 770, then Cake, started depositing own money, got some from TaF as well, took a few chances at Stars, bought HM2, came back to Tilt recently.......... All in all my life time graph

I SUCK!!!!! :f_cool:

Will continue whining in future posts...

Other stuff...

Coming from Serbia, a small European country with approx 8.000.000 people, among which are Novak Djokovic, Nemanja Vidic, Vlade Divac, Milorad Cavic etc. sports is the only way to keep your mind off everyday politics. I am a HUGE sports fan, I follow all of the group sports, and some individual, and recreationaly I play football and volleyball with my friends. I am a Red Star fan, my favorite club, for which I care more than most people care about their close family, and, besides poker, they are the main reason why I lose my temper and go insane from time to time!

I like gambling and casinos, mainly card games, and slots, actually the only game I hate there is roulette, as I don't see any point in losing money over pure luck (losing money in poker is a different thing, it's because I suck, and other players are better, not because the rigged machine says so).
Also I started the Insanity workout a month ago, as I am coming to the age where folk dancing is not as easy as it looks, and I don't like when I run out of breath after 5mins of indoor football, so we'll see how it goes (already I am behind the schedule and skipping exercises, but I have a good progress anyway!)

As it is a custom I will post some goals life wise and poker wise, as soon as I figure them out (wasn't I supposed to do that before starting a blog, what the heck lets break some rulz!!!) :f_biggrin:

So time to set up some goalz....

Ultimate goal
Don't go broke

(un)realistic goals:
[ ] reach NL25 bankroll (as soon as I set up bankroll management)
[ ] maintain gold status on Edge
[ ] clear all bonuses (and stop forcing volume just so I can clear bonus)
[ ] start learning about poker game
[ ] minimize losing money to tilt (not Full but actual tilt)
[ ] get in the money at miniFTOPS Final (already have a step 4 ticket worth 75$)

Realistic or not this is the plan!

As for how things are now:
BR=239$
My stats 20/12 over 75000 hands
NL10 -900$ over 55000 hands

I will continue to play NL10, but if I drop below 200$ (and I probably will) then its
NL5+BR management+learning poker!

Will try to keep this blog alive with some off poker stuff, sports, work etc. but will try to post graphs, hands, and weekly and monthly results!

Hey Milan, thanks for showing me your blog.

Your goals are definitely realistic and very achievable.

As for your graph, I'd say you bluff a lot which is something you shouldn't do at nl10. It's super profitable to just play your big hands and play them aggressively. As they say, just keep betting and fold if they raise you. Ofc you can exploit everyone at nl10 just by using position, because they all have 0 positional awareness.

Hope this helps.

GL at the tables!

I will be following.

1st update

First of all I am very glad to see that at least someone is watching my blog, that will keep me motivated to play better, not to disappoint any of you.

I probably forgot to mention (as I am new to writing blogs), I usually play 1 or 2 sessions per day lasting about 1.5-2hrs playing 4 tables 6MAX NL10.

First I will post a couple of hands, so maybe someone can tell me how to improve my play.

First hand is how to save my money:

Full Tilt Poker $10.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 2054750
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

Hero (CO): $5.89 - VPIP: 20, PFR: 12, 3B: 4, AF: 1.8, Hands: 77853
BTN: $10.20 - VPIP: 42, PFR: 16, 3B: 0, AF: 1.2, Hands: 81
SB: $3.99 - VPIP: 18, PFR: 6, 3B: 0, AF: 2.0, Hands: 34
BB: $10.00 - VPIP: 15, PFR: 11, 3B: 3, AF: 2.7, Hands: 91
UTG: $22.36 - VPIP: 32, PFR: 25, 3B: 5, AF: 2.3, Hands: 127
MP: $8.08 - VPIP: 17, PFR: 15, 3B: 0, AF: 5.5, Hands: 59

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is CO with 8 :spade: 8 :diamond:
UTG raises to $0.40, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.40, BTN calls $0.40, 2 folds

Flop: ($1.35) 6 :club: 2 :club: 4 :diamond: (3 players)
UTG bets $1.10, Hero calls $1.10, BTN folds

Turn: ($3.55) 3 :spade: (2 players)
UTG bets $2.30, Hero raises to $4.39, UTG calls $2.09

River: ($12.33) 9 :club: (2 players)

Final Pot: $12.33
Hero shows 8 :spade: 8 :diamond:
UTG shows J :diamond: J :club:
UTG wins $11.51
(Rake: $0.82)

The second is a question on how to extract more cash when I have a good hand:

Full Tilt Poker $10.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 2054753
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

CO: $20.83 - VPIP: 35, PFR: 24, 3B: 0, AF: 2.0, Hands: 113
BTN: $13.55 - VPIP: 20, PFR: 17, 3B: 6, AF: 3.1, Hands: 324
SB: $10.44 - VPIP: 20, PFR: 17, 3B: 9, AF: 2.1, Hands: 178
Hero (BB): $9.55 - VPIP: 20, PFR: 12, 3B: 4, AF: 1.8, Hands: 77853
UTG: $22.66 - VPIP: 23, PFR: 14, 3B: 4, AF: 1.7, Hands: 141
MP: $10.00 - VPIP: 13, PFR: 10, 3B: 7, AF: 0.0, Hands: 121

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with 9 :diamond: T :diamond:
2 folds, CO raises to $0.30, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.65) 5 :club: 9  9 :spade: (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.40, Hero calls $0.40

Turn: ($1.45) 3 :club: (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.70, Hero raises to $1.40, CO folds

Final Pot: $2.85
Hero wins $2.66
(Rake: $0.19)

And the graph for first 3 days looks like this:

After reading gadget51s blog, I am pretty sure that at some point I will drop to NL5 and start studying poker more serious. Also after that I played one 4 table session of NL5, I will need to adopt some different rulz for that level...
Anyways here is a graph of that session:

And my worst hand during that session:

Full Tilt Poker $5.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 2054766
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

UTG: $5.30 - VPIP: 17, PFR: 6, 3B: 4, AF: 7.0, Hands: 84

BB: $8.89 - VPIP: 17, PFR: 13, 3B: 5, AF: 3.4, Hands: 394

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is SB with A :diamond: A
2 folds, CO raises to $0.15, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.13, BB calls $0.10

Hero checks, BB checks, CO bets $0.33, Hero raises to $0.66, BB folds, CO raises to $1.20, Hero raises to $5.05, CO calls $3.85

Turn: ($10.55) 8  (2 players)

River: ($10.55) 2 :spade: (2 players)

Final Pot: $10.55
CO shows 5 :diamond: 5 :spade:
Hero shows A :diamond: A
CO wins $9.85
(Rake: $0.70)

So to sum up this week:
BR: 257.3$
My game: 19/13 +1.77/100bb over 2.545 hands

interesting sports weekend, basketball team winning against Slovenian Olimpija as guest! :D :D :D

Unfortunately tennis players Ana Ivanovic and Novak Djokovic lost the finals of Hopman Cup to the spanish duo, but as in poker... YOU CAN'T WIN 'EM ALL!!! Next year... :P
But they still know how to have great fun for them and for crowd as well...

Merry Christmas to all my Orthodox Christian brothers!!!

What I realized from these two hands (and about dozen more over the past few days) is that I play very slow in hands with 2+ players, and ALWAYS call the river even though I know I lost it!!!

So mid week graph for NL10:

[img] Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/img]

Very nice, even though pretty high above ev.

Also continued to play NL5 but switched to rush (watched TwiceTs videos Move it, move it up to the sky) trying to be more aggressive, and that's easier on rush tables, and I think it suites me fine.

Not so many hands to evaluate but here is the graph:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Mid week cuts:
BR: 302$
NL10 stats: 17/13 +17.49bb/100 over 1.533 hands
NL5 stats: 17/13 +16.64bb/100 over 1.285 hands

Overall most happy that I started evaluating my hands, and realizing what I'm doing wrong, sometimes I make the same mistakes, but I fell like I'm learning as well.

Also watching videos (bronze only :( , Full Tilt not tracked anymore) but there is a lot of interesting and useful stuff you can find on PS!

Question!!!
I am expecting 50$ TaF money in the near future, should I deposit it somewhere else and grind to silver at least, so I can watch more videos and read more strategy articles, or just boost my FullTilt bankroll???

Expecting both Edge and bonus payout tomorrow so more $$$ for me. :f_biggrin:

Off poker

Pretty busy weekend life wise and sport wise...

Best friend of Mrs gave birth to her daughter, so that gave us reason to drink the whole weekend, + last night we celebrated New Year according to Julian calendar, while on an 18th birthday party of a young friend of ours, so this can be good time to make a pause in drinking all night, and have a few weeks of healthy life (I will probably laugh at this post in a few weeks :D )! Anyway getting back to Insanity after 20 days break, so thats also healthy.

Sport wise....SUCCESS, SUCCESS, SUCCESS

Water polo team wining national cup after beating greatest rivals after overtime

Basketball team literally swipes the floor with Croatian champion Cedevita

And of course Aussie Open is starting, pretty good opening day 5/6 Serbian players are trough, except Troicki who lost to Stepanek after being 2 sets up...

I`m off to a Chinese restaurant with Mrs and some friends, and some late night bowling, so probably no poker today :(
This hand you might even consider folding pre-flop until you're more comfortable with your post flop game, seeing as the opener is playing 14/14 and doesn't have worse Ax than ATs (so when you get action on an A-hi board you might be often dominated). But it has decent playability so it's pretty standard to call it here (esp. considering the BB looks kind of weak).

Leading the turn is fine since MP is folding nearly every time here and we have most of the time the best hand. Since BB is fish we can probably make it bigger like 3/4 pot and expect a lot of calls from JT/QT/KT and other draws.

River is always bet/fold (still worth betting vs. fish for same reason as turn, but he's never turning a Tx hand into a bluff so we have nothing beat when he re-raises).

What I realized from these two hands (and about dozen more over the past few days) is that I play very slow in hands with 2+ players, and ALWAYS call the river even though I know I lost it!!!
First thing: never limp with hands like this, especially from UTG. There's so many regs nowadays that 95% of the time someone will isolate you with a raise and c-bet you off your hand if you call. You need to always (except in VERY special circumstances) open-raise with hands you want to play. That allows you to continue aggression on the flop (since by raising you represent a stronger hand), as well as sometimes allowing you to steal the blinds (free money adds up!). Regardless, you should fold 98o pre-flop from UTG.

As played, you might even want to get your money in on the flop. Since BB is only 50bb deep he could be re-raising with any TT+ he slow-played, as well as a ton of crappy 9x (A9/K9) and be willing to stack off there. The CO can easily have over-pairs against which you're a favorite (though I doubt it when he bets so small on the flop) and guys love to get it in with their flush draws against which you're a small to decent favourite.

Since the players at these stakes are kind of bad, I would just re-raise here and try and get the money in ASAP. Don't be worried about making them fold.

As played after the flop, you should make it bigger on the turn to charge all the flush draws. Maybe something like $2.25+. Depends on your opponents.

As played after the turn, it's a clear fold on the river (which you know). At these stakes I'd even be tempted to check/fold or perhaps check/call smaller bets if you think he's capable of turning busted flush-draws into bluffs there (doubt he would though).
What did you think you were beating on the turn? He turned up here with the worst hand he could possibly have (the best hand for you) and he still has some decent equity. If someone bet/shoves on you on a board like this then it isn't going to make you money in the long run to call him off with TPTK unless you have some serious read on him.

Do you think he's ever making this move with JT/QT/KT? J9/97? Maybe he does with some flush draws, but not many opponents will ship it there with those. I think the re-raise is fine since sometimes you get some value from worse Tx, but when he shoves you just have to fold unless you've got a read.

I know it maybe sounds counter-intuitive since you had the best hand in this example, but you need to think about ranges rather than hands. His hand may be KQs, but his range looks something more like this:

Board: 8c3d5cTh
Equity Win Tie
MP2 79.59% 77.37% 2.21% { 88, 55, 33, T8s, 85s, KcQc, AcTc, Jc9c, 9c7c, Ac3c }
MP3 20.41% 18.20% 2.21% { AsTd }

And we're not in great shape.

First of all thank you for devoting your time to analyze my hands, most of the hands I posted are the ones where I knew I did it wrong, it`s very helpful when someone points me out exactly where i did wrong.

As for the third hand, I played it against every rule and principle of poker, because i played against a specific opponent, and I tried my reading skills on this guy. The 60 or so hands we played together he always slow played good hands (sets, straights...), and made large bets on draws (which he did hit about three times by then on the river (as you can see his VPIP he plays every other hand)). My guess was that he was checking flop cause he expected a c-bet from me (I almost always c-bet flop) and he would re-raise my bet for sure, by the turn he got nervous and shoved, I was sure he had a draw, and it would be too much to hit it again on river (but it wouldn't surprise me if he did). I totally agree that in every other situation this is a clear fold.
Oh, and for the second hand, I don't know, and didn't even realize until you pointed out that I limped in the beggining, since I almost never limp, really puzzled with that action from me!

Anyway thanks again for dropping by and analyzing my hands, hope you continue following and advising.

So for all you guys following my blog, and wondered why my all time graph looks so downhill, and my games since I started this blog seem solid here are the graphs from yesterday and today combined:

So -10BI in less then 2000 hands, so bad play, maybe one or two hands I played correctly, all money gone on my stupidity, tables were so soft today, I spotted 50% fish on every table, but that all couldn't help as I was the BIGGEST FISH of them all.

I will do a midweek cut tomorrow as usual, hopefully with a couple of good sessions tonight and tomorrow, otherwise I am 2BI from dropping to NL5

Ty for the comments, added you as friend.

Midweek update coming tonight (managed to dig myself out of the hole a little bit)!

As for the next level, it's NL25 on Tilt where I play, but I plan to transfer once I clear FDB sometimes in April, hopefully by then I will get a grip of my game, and stop spewing money.

Regs are there to take my money, and I don`t have a problem with that, it's the fish taking my money that drives me insane, again reason why I want to work on my mental game (I agree that we'll do this easily together, so I'm up for sweat sessions 100%).

GL see you on each others' blogs :f_biggrin:
