Poker Stars, $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

      BTN: $12.35 (49.4 bb)
      SB: $47.65 (190.6 bb) 27/22/23%3b (41h)
      Hero (BB): $29.86 (119.4 bb)
      UTG: $27.12 (108.5 bb)
      MP: $38.10 (152.4 bb) 27/20 (15h)
      CO: $49.79 (199.2 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A Q
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.75, 2 folds, SB raises to $2.50, Hero calls $2.25, MP folds

      Flop: ($5.75) Q 5 3 (2 players)
SB bets $3.50, Hero calls $3.50

      Turn: ($12.75) 8 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $6.10, SB calls $6.10

      River: ($24.95) K (2 players)
      SB checks, Hero checks

      $24.95 pot ($1.12 rake)
      Final Board: Q 5 3 8 K
SB showed J J and lost (-$12.10 net)
      Hero showed A Q and won $23.83 ($11.73 net)

Preflop: small sample but SB looks aggro. I call to play him in position because I think I dominate a lot of hands that he 3bets (I expect Axs etc. in his range). I don't like 4betting here because he might only continue with hands that crush me. It's not great that MP is left to act but hey.

Flop: I don't see him calling a raise with worse, so I flat to let him keep barrelling. I thought this took precedence over protection because it's pretty unlikely that he has a flush draw and that it is precisely spades.

Turn: Bet sizing of half pot hopes to get called by worse 1-pair hands. Even less worried about flush draw now because he would have 2nd barrelled I think.

River: Should I have made a thin value bet? The overcard scared me into checking behind but on reflection it very rarely improved villain unless he had exactly KQ, whereas by betting I might have got a bit more value from QJ,QT,JJ,TT.

Anything horribly wrong with 4bet folding here? Assuming MP isn't opening tight. I hate cold calling 3bets, turns your hand face up. e.g. on that river card villain can rep a K, if he shoves, what are you going to do? He should be shoving that card 100% there?

Given that SB looks a little 3bet happy, it looks +ev to 4bet here as MP with 100% of range?

On the river, I don't think there's much value left.

I think the river is def a bet if we plan on having a bluffing range here then we have to bet AQ for value imo. Obv he can have QK but it's likely that he would bet that himself for value.

      everything else looks good.

btw pretty good post with your own analysis under the hand, the more reads you post the better advice we can give.
