      When he bets the turn I think my pair of 8's are still in good standing, although looking back at the hand it looks more like he is trying to protect against the draw, so maybe it should have been a fold?

      What do we know about villain?

      calling the is villain dependent.

      As played why are we not raising that river larger for pure value vs Ax?

      Not much is known at this point other than he is passive especially preflop.

      I did later realise he was predictably check flop/betting turn in every hand he played, so he could easily just be taking a stab at it with air on the turn I think.

      How much do you think I could extract on the river vs. top pair? I wanted to make it an amount he would call so I thought pot size would be fine, at the time I thought he could be betting with a missed draw though.

      Against a huge fish we can even overbet shove there but against a somewhat unknown player like him I'd make it at least 3x-4x his raise.
