Just joined this game so I took the freeplay instead of raising, I figured leading pretty heavily would pay off as people often don't respect the BB in this situation and clearly my hand is well concealed. I think I could have actually got 2x the pot value on the river.

      Hello,

I think we have to raise here preflop for sure - our hand is just so strong to check it.

On the flop I'd just pot it.

On the turn you can go for $0.6.

I kind of like the idea for overbetting the river.
I think any Ax is calling and by overbetting we might level him into calling with some Jx or so.

      Best,
      Plamen

Yeah I just find myself getting into unnecessary situations when I join a table and the first hand I see is strong but by no means the best so I often just go for a check.
By this I mean for example I joined a table before, get AKo as my first hand, 3-bet someone but I'm forced to fold to a 4-bet because I have no idea about my opponent.

Thanks I'm trying to implement more overbetting for value on river but I keep missing out on situations where the time is right.

Well, this is one of the best scenarios with the AK.
This is our first hand and we 3bet and shove against 4bet. We are likely to get extremely wide calls here since most people are just "oo he is just sitting he must be bluffing with J7o I call with my KQ" or so.
