I usually do 8bb 3bet OOP vs minraise. In this spot it's about range construction and a bit about vacuum flop play. Does he fold often enough to one bet? If so, problem solved. However, if he doesn't, do you want to barrel? If so, 22 is gonna be the dead bottom of your range (max 2 outs, possibly none, overs have way more equity) so in theory you will barrel 100% of the time. Do you want that?

I don't mind check/folding small pairs sometimes after I get called vs a 3bet without any potential to barrel/improve. Having a gutters, a higher pair or even a slight backdoor flush, maybe a scarier board that hits your range better is going to make a difference.
