btw you should really read some strategy articles, they help a lot...
watching poker on TV is just pretty much for entertainment most of the time, there isnt much you can actually learn watching Chris Fergusson and Howard Lederer playing :D

Hello Josh and welcome to the English forums!

Well now let's see fi we can get you on the road to crushing yes? :)

first, there is the link at the bottom of my post taking you to the NL Beginners Course, where you can learn all the basic everyday correct ways to play and much much more. [Pssst, it's the big green link, you can't miss it ok? ] It's totally free and there are professional coaches playing live and explaining what they do and why they do it, every hand.
You can watch them play and ask any questions and have them asnswered straight away - and don't worry if you think your questions are silly, they're not silly just beginner is all. I did the course as well and it was superb - and yes my questions were silly of course!
Ok, did I say all this is free?

Also, you said you joined Pokerstars. What about signing up for a poker room via PokerStrategy.com, passing the [really really easy] quiz and getting free money to play? The information link is on the front page of the site on the left I think. Help yourself or ask me here if you get lost or stuck.

In addition to that, here is the link to our expert on poker rooms if you aren't sure which room you would like to join. Just answer a couple of questions and he'll make his suggestion for you.

Choosing the right Poker Room for you!

Anything else you need, just ask. It's what we're here for. :)

      Best regards,

      Mal.

hey thanks everyone for the important information i have signed up for poker770 but honestly what do u guys reckon is the best one for beginners to play on and learn and make a good bankroll? i will start watching those videos as you have suggested and hopefully that it is very useful and helps my game play and like mentioned improves my bankroll because as i said at the start not going very well. it would be nice to even have a little win so then i can go over and re look over my improvements and my mistakes where i should correct. if anyone has any other suggestions on good places to play on for learners. currently on pokerstars and poker770. pokerstars havent even met my first vpp collection poker770 got the free $10 played last night low stakes 2/4 holdem and lost

      Hi Josh,
I found these articles to be just perfect for starting out and used them myself.

      http://www.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/sss/

One point to realise is that the Short Stack Strategy (SSS) has been disallowed from a lot of games, so may not be relevant for the sites you play. With the Mid Stack Strategy (MSS) should be fine, however.

I would suggest you use the MSS to get you going until you know your way around a table and the game a little better. This saves you money when you make mistakes - and you will make mistakes, lots of them! :D Don't get disheartened by that, we all make mistakes, we just try not to make the same ones too often.

      Have fun,

      Mal.
