There's value in the river raise?

      What is villains river range?

      Hi David,

Preflop: Why are we calling 87s versus such a nit preflop? His range is super strong and our hand is very speculative.

I would fold or 3-bet this hand but since he only opens 11% and doesn't fold much to 3-bets (and the cbets after) I would just muck it.

Equilab your 78s versus an 11% range and see how you do.

As played we can bet turn again since we have 8 high and better can fold (like 33-TT).

What range do you think an 11% gets to the river with that can call a raise?

Pre call is because villain is very straight forward...

      That's a totally -EV call?

      Maybe only AK?

      BTW:

      River: 5:club: ($1, 2 players)
UTG bets $0.55, DavidDorky raises to $1.80, UTG goes all-in $4.46, DavidDorky folds

The value in playing a hand like this comes from it's implied odds (which we may have some off) but also from the fold equity postflop (Which we probably don't have much off). On top of that we have more players behind that can come along and then our FE goes down even more.

On top of it our FD can be dominated by his range because he will have only bigger ones.

As you played it we need to fold after the raise. We beat nothing but a bluff.
