Flop : i decide to x/call because he is folding too much to cbets and i want to keep the pot small

Turn: i still think i often have the best hand

River: when he pots that board with 4 to a straight there, i think he does have the 7, or at least two pair.

Was my plan on vs him just ended bad or this approach was rubbish with KK, and i should have bet my self flop+turn?

I'd just bet/fold this flop. As you said, he folds most of his weaker holdings here, so you know excactly where you stand at if he calls. AND because he is so aggressive, you know give him a chance to fire multiple barrels.

As played, I'd ch/f that flop, looks more like weak Ax on such a dry board.

I think its fine. It gets tricky but betting flop doesnt serve too much purpose. Hes mostly folding worse hands and hes def not folding stronger hands like ax.

By default ill cc flop and turn. River is mostly based on opponentd tendencies and u can find arfuments for calling down or folding.

In this instance the board ran out too badly for us so folding seems good.
