PokerTracker 4.06 Stable Release Notes - January 30, 2013

We are proud to announce that PokerTracker 4.6 is now available! This is a major release for us, we have completed the 4.5.x fork in our development cycle. The prior betas will no longer be available on our website, 4.6 is considered a "stable" release. Going forward we will be building all future releases based on the 4.6 stable code base, a stable release is a finalization of the prior incremental releases.

This is an abbreviated list of key updates since the last stable release of PokerTracker 4. Stable Releases are a compilation of all prior beta releases after full regression testing. You can see a complete list of changes in the PokerTracker 4.5 Beta Release Notes.

The PokerTracker developers and support staff want to thank those of you who helped provide comments after each beta release. Your patience and help are greatly appreciated and benefit the PokerTracker community as a whole.

Key Updates Summary:
• NEW: You can now create logs for Customer Support by holding down the ALT key when restarting PokerTracker 4!
• NEW: ICM and Net Adjusted Winnings are now compensated for in Bounty Tournaments!
• NEW: PokerTracker 4 updates that require database changes will no longer require clustering, this means database updates that occur when installing new PT4 versions will be significantly faster!
• NEW: The Hand History Viewer has reduced clutter by improving the display of antes, split pots, and low hands; and a new Copy to Clipboard mode has been added to simplify the sharing of hands in third party applications including automatic support for AIM, Skype, Word, Evernote, Outlook, Thunderbird, Libra Office and more!
• NEW: HYPER-TURBO tournament formats are now supported!
• NEW: Day of Week and Hour of Day options are now available within the Personal Results by Time Period graphs! Tournament Buy Ins Won graph options; and "Day of Week", "Hour of Day", and Tournament Description filters have all been added!

Special Notes
• A database update may be required with this release if you did not previously complete a database update during the BETA release cycle. This mandatory update is required due to the changes made to the PokerTracker 4 database structure. The database update is completed quickly, but vacuum maintenance is required to complete the activity. Please be aware that action may might take some time to complete but the time required is less than in prior updates, the length of time required is dependent on the size of your databases. As a baseline, a database on a 5400RPM hard drive with 14.28 Gigs of hand history data required roughly 18 minutes to complete the maintenance required after updating from the prior BETA release.

Additional Notes:
* Due to the extensive database updates and improvements in this release, a Database Cache Rebuild is required to assure that your database performs optimally when using any of the stats that were altered, fixed or updated in this release. This rebuild will take place automatically, and will require an extensive amount of time for large PokerTracker 4 databases - please plan your update time accordingly. Please be aware that if the cache update is canceled or bypassed PokerTracker 4 will not work properly.
** This update will only affect newly imported hands, to apply this minor fix retroactively please re-import any hand that would be affected by this issue. This is a minor fix that only affects rare situations, we do not advise reimporting your database unless it is absolutely necessary for compliance.
*** PostgreSQL 9.3 is now conditionally supported, however our developers do not advise using any version of PostgreSQL higher than 9.0 unless you are willing to help us test support for this new PostgreSQL version by providing our staff with support tickets in the event that any unforeseen issues may occur. The addition of any new PostgreSQL version to PokerTracker 4 support is taken very cautiously to assure that data corruption will not occur. Our extensive tests have shown that switching to 9.3 appears to be safe however it is possible that unexpected side effects may be discovered as more PokerTracker 4 users switch to this more modern version of PostgreSQL. Please proceed with caution and at your own risk, but we can share that PokerTracker’s own support staff have moved to PostgreSQL 9.3 safely and with good results so far. At this time we ask that only advanced PokerTracker 4 users with extensive experience with our support ticket system consider switching to PostgreSQL 9.3. An in depth guide for PostgreSQL 9.3 conversion is available at https://www.pokertracker.com/guides/PT4/databases/how-to-manually-install-or-reinstall-postgresql-93-windows
