      I decide to raise for protection against flush, straight draw en overcards, because the half pot bet looks (semi-)bluffy.

      Preflop: looks fine

      Postflop: Protection is a by-product of a different type of reason for raise. For example we raise for value and protect at the same time. Or we raise as a bluff and protect part of our equity in the pot.

      So in this case we raised as a bluff to try and take down the pot and perhaps a super thin value raise versus some draws. Given his bet size I don't mind your raise despite the lack of equity we have in the hand.
