      Hi Philip,
      Check/calling is fine, although check/raising is also an option, like you said. I don't think there's much difference in EV between the two, without reads. As played, I'd lead the turn small-ish, to hope for a raise, and get value from overpairs, since many won't bet with the overcard and 3rd diamond.
