      Poker Stars $10.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players

      MP: $4.59 - VPIP: 25, PFR: 19, 3B: 6, AF: 1,1, Hands: 291
      CO: $22.85 - VPIP: 43, PFR: 1, 3B: 1, AF: 2,9, Hands: 913, limp:53, Ftocb:74
      Hero (BTN): $11.93 - VPIP: 21, PFR: 16, 3B: 4, AF: 2,0, Hands: 106235
      SB: $10.30 - VPIP: 26, PFR: 20, 3B: 13, AF: 1,3, Hands: 88
      BB: $9.19 - VPIP: 35, PFR: 19, 3B: 4, AF: 1,6, Hands: 334, donk:29%, cc:25%
      UTG: $15.04 - VPIP: 22, PFR: 19, 3B: 8, AF: 39,0, Hands: 271

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BTN with 8 :diamond: 7 :diamond:
2 folds, CO calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.40, 1 fold, BB calls $0.30, 1 fold

      Flop: ($0.95) 5 :spade: 6 :club: 8  (2 players)
BB bets $0.40, Hero calls $0.40 isolating fish, planning to take down the pot on the flop

      Turn: ($1.75) 5  (2 players)
BB bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50 Seen him donking with TPNK, that is all.

      River: ($2.75) 9 :spade: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $1.30, BB raises to $3.50, Hero calls $2.20
I was thinking: I have a straight, I MUST bet here. I MUST bet here. Hard to bet for value, but still, I HAVE A STRAIGHT!... Too strong to check it back imo... I have seen him donking with TPNK, So I can imagine him with K8, A8, 98 etc. here calling the bet.
After he raises, I only need to be ahead 23% of the times... impossible to fold.

      Hi Imimba,

      Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: I think that we can make an argument for raising the flop for thin value versus 5x, 6x, 77 but calling is fine as well (calling turn is fine too).

So on the river we must bet for value. Why would we ever check back and face palm ourselves when he shows 5x, 6x, 8x, etc.

We bet for value, simple as that.

Once we raises we are calling for a split and I think without reads it would be hard to fold. 99 and other boats are part of his range though.

Maybe the bet sizing is too big... I need to bet smaller to that 8x and other weaker hands can call.
I mean, the board is so cordinated, he could fold his 1p hands/trips vs such a big bet AND not only 55,66,88,99 beats me, but also 56, 89

      1/2 pot is too big?

Definitely not. That's fine. If you were to bet full pot it would be different.

Just to be sure, is this an"easy" river value bet?
Maybe I was just too unlucky in the past, and see monsters everywhere.

      Define easy?

It should be a valuebet based on how the board came down, the actions villain took and your read (donks TP).
