Fi seem to be a mss-reg. Playing 25/25/14.3 over 114 hands. I had a note on him when he on button 3betted me(cutoff) with AJs and called reshove.

Can I call here profitable? I expect him to have lots of Ax. Also, his 25/25 stats could indicate that he 3bets all his pocket pairs. I havn't really met any mms-regs until I just recently moved to iPoker so im not sure how they play really. Not sure how many low-PPs I could put in his range. Not sure either if he does this with monsters or not.

      Hi Lodinn,

After discounting the rake we need roughly 45% equity here to make the call.

If villain stacks off with:88+, AJs+, AQo+ we only have 36%.

If we start adding a bit more: 88+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+ we go to 40%.

Now if we add all PPs: 22+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+ we got up to 51%. So as you can see he needs to stack off really light for us to even be breakeven there.

So I think that your call here is marginal at best unless villain resteals a lot and has sizing tells (ex: does not shove the top part of his range but makes it smaller).

Yeah I agree, I realized that it was a loose call but I just thought, as you bring up, that he might not push here with monsters to extract more value from the fish. The fact that his vpip was the same as pfr lead me to the call.

But in general, would you say that mss-regs 3bets all their pp? guess that makes sense.

No, I would say that at these limits you won't find a lot that push that wide to make 88 an insta call when needing a lot of equity (45%+).
