Hello everyone. Welcome to my new blog.

It will be a Zoom-only blog where I will keep track of my goals/progress, post sick hands and discuss strategy/hands.

My name is Panayiotis and I am a second year student in a university in the UK. My poker career started last February and since then I made a decent Bankroll playing SNG/mtt's. Now due to various reasons I have decided to switch to cash games.

I have very little cash game experience as I only started playing CG during the end of December and then I had to take January off due to exams. I tested nl10/nl25 for 2-3 weeks found them beatable so I moved to nl50.

I have big leaks in my gameplan/theory/knowledge and I am working very hard to fix them. However I am not as bad as most players at NL50 so I am confident that I can beat NL50 with at least a 5bb winrate.

My ultimate goal is to become a very good cash game player. I am very motivated and willing to work hard towards that goal.

Btw, I am always looking for people to discuss hands/strategy and even do some sweat sessions. If you are interested just add me in the community or post here.

2013 Goals:

:diamond: Beat NL50 with 5bb+ winrate over a 200k+ sample
:diamond: Beat NL100 by the end of summer
:diamond: Earn $30 000 until the end of the year

Managed to pull out a 13k hand session yesterday. I started really well but in the last few k hands I played badly and ended the day in the red . No worries though, I ll get it back today :)

Advice:

I would like to share some advice with you guys that i find very helpful. Well, every time you sit start a session keep one thing in mind. You are playing the game to make money. Thats your number one priority.

As a result how you should approach the game is the following. You must play only hands that can make you money. You dont need to prove that you can play every hand from every position. Thats not the point. You are there to make money. ie: You have 64s in the CO. If you believe that you can play that hand from that position profitably then do it, if not then dont. Personally i would only open that if the button is really tight and blinds are passive as well. If this is not the case then I dont think i can make any money from this hand and therefore fold.

Also this applies to dealing regurals. You dont need to prove to them that you are smarter than them or anything. You are playing the game to make money remember? Therefore you dont need to go crazy on them to get them to fold good hands. I am not saying you should play back at them ie If you think a check raise can make you more money by betting then do it. But dont start triple barrelleing all regs all the time with air. You will not make money that way.

Let the other player do the crazy bluffs and spew their money to you. Leave your ego aside and play solidly.

Conclusion:
Your number one goal when playing poker is to make money
1) Only play hands that you think can make you money
2) Do moves that you think can make you money
3) Leave your ego aside
4) Dont spew

Biggest hand of the Day:

Its important to resist the urge to raise him again preflop adn try to put all money preflop. If I did anything else but call in that spot preflop he might get away. At least I was villain and I was facing a shove there I would click the fold button.

What do you think about this hand? Villain is playing 35/25 over 600 hands. On the flop it think that raising is by far superior than calling. But as played are we calling river?

Donation time :)
woud be easier if the jam wasnt so huge

there are 3 combos of QTs, lets assume BB is probably 3betting or folding vs CO open, so lets give him 2-3 out of 9 combos of QTo ....

=5-6 combos in total only and he might try to jam any T to push you off a chop + he might have TJ which furiously jammes cause u "sucked out" :D

and if he is a spazzy type, he might jam wide here to put pressure on just about anything really

for me, sigh call wins :) - if u split ur happy, if not, off to a bad beat thread to get some consideration from others saying its a setup

Villain seems like a good aggro reg.

3b vs everyone = 5% from BB to BTN (38 spots)
3b vs hero = 15% (13spots)

I steal 62% from BTN an fold to a sb/bb 3b 58%

I had a really hard time figuring out what he is repping on the river.

There is only one combo of JJ and one combo of AA. I don't think he is 3b 88 so we can exclude that as well.

Maybe KQ diamonds that got there on river?
Can he have a random 8? A8-J8 ? But again how many combos can he have?

sucks but i think i could find a "sigh" fold here unless villain 3barrel bluffs too often and thinks u fold too much

problem is i cant see him vbetting worse like AK/AT/AQ with this sizing otr, he is going to have K8s/Q8s/88/AA/JJ/A8s most of the time here and thats like what..... 8 combos?

did u call? what did he have?

pretty close spot though imo

Played around 100k hands in the last 10 day of February to rake enough points to become diamond. However i did not play my A game and ended the challenge breakevnish. I am certainly not happy about that and I will aim for a 3k month pre rakeback.

One note about NL50

Players play way too tight. There are countless times I get it in with QQ or AK and I am not that happy about it.
