Been playing fixed limit 0.25/0.50 FR for a while, got the BR to move up to 0.50/1.00... first day, and 25% of my BR is gone.

I have to love these beats...

      Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A:spade: , J:heart:
      UTG+2 folds, Hero raises, MP2 folds, MP3 3-bets, 4 folds, Hero calls.

      Flop: (7.50 SB) 9:spade: , 5:heart: , J:diamond: (2 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, MP3 calls.

      Turn: (5.75 BB) 2:spade: (2 players)
      Hero bets, MP3 calls.

      River: (7.75 BB) 4:diamond: (2 players)
Hero bets, MP3 raises, Hero calls.

      Final Pot: 11.75 BB

      Results follow:
Hero shows a pair of jacks (As Jh)
MP3 shows a straight, five high (Ac 3c)

98.081% Favorite on the Flop... doesn't matter :O

And like 10 minutes after that one, and of course, against the same player...

Preflop: Hero is BB with A:club: , J:spade:
UTG+2 folds, MP1 raises, 5 folds, Hero calls.

      Flop: (4.50 SB) 9:spade: , J:heart: , 3:heart: (2 players)
      Hero bets, MP1 calls.

      Turn: (3.25 BB) T:diamond: (2 players)
      Hero bets, MP1 calls.

      River: (5.25 BB) 7:heart: (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls.

      Final Pot: 9.25 BB

      Results follow:
Hero shows a pair of jacks (Ac Js)
MP1 shows a straight, jack high (As 8s)

So, I'm moving back to 0.25/0.50... Ohh... I know it's standard variance, but 25% of the BR still hurts, and I wanted to whine a little.

      Hey Amirapuato,

I know it's standard variance, but 25% of the BR still hurts

why not to decrease stop:loss then?
move down after you've lost 10-15% or so, this way you can recover faster)
but I have no idea what is variance in fixed limit)

      anyway,

      wish you quick recover
      good luck

FL 0.50/1.00 has been always a challenge, I don't play FL but on the portuguese forums people make topics saying that they can't play on 0.50/1.00, too many gamblers or something.

When I first started .5/1$ SH I went from 450->220, welcome to the world of SH FL variance :P You got in most of the money while you were ahead so you actually won those pots :)

@TerrorBlade: It should be a bit less variance on FR, that's why I haven't changed to SH :)

@CoreySteel: Titan Poker, currently 0.25/0.50 FR (not moving up in a while); PartyPoker, currently 0.10/0.20 FR (moving up soon)

It's strange... While on Party I had a +150 BB week, on Titan I'm now about 200 BB down over the last 4k hands ?(

if thats the case just strictly play the pot odds and you wont go far wrong
