      Hero showed A K and won $7.69 ($3.82 net)

Villain is aggressive and sometimes spewy. I've seen him barreling alot a few times. Against LAGs is this a good play? Since I feel this board doesn't hit his range much. And i expect overpairs to lead out on flop to protect vs FDs

If I check back flop (which I think is fine play) I would likely just fold on the turn. He should valuebet any pair, you can´t call on diamonds and if you´re behind then you only have 4 outs to improve (for example against TdTx).
If you call turn then I think river call is reasonable. Likely he is only valuebetting 9x+ and there are missed draws in his range.

consider turn call, if he is really loose, then you should mostly call:
      Hand Equity Wins Ties
      AcKh 46.63% 2,735 316
      15% 53.37% 3,153 316

but if he is not bluffing often and valuebetting tight range, then fold is better:
      board: 2d6d9d8c
      Hand Equity Wins Ties
      AcKh 34.17% 744 316
      7% 65.83% 1,580 316

Also he may pot river over overbet pot which put you at really difficult choice and even if you´re ahead on the turn I don´t think you´re going to call potsize bet for example on blank river (8x is one of the best cards)

      best regards,
