I recently played this hand and would really appreciated your evaluation on how I played it.

Prima, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

      BTN: $13.44 (134.4 bb)
      Hero (SB): $10 (100 bb)
      BB: $15.02 (150.2 bb)
      UTG: $5.47 (54.7 bb)
      MP: $14.87 (148.7 bb)
      CO: $11.91 (119.1 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q K
UTG calls $0.10, MP raises to $0.50, CO calls $0.50, BTN calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.45, BB folds, UTG calls $0.40

      Flop: ($2.60) A 5 T (5 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, MP bets $2, 2 folds, Hero raises to $6, UTG folds, MP raises to $14.37 and is all-in, Hero calls $3.50 and is all-in

      Turn: ($21.60) 3 (2 players, 2 are all-in)
      River: ($21.60) 6 (2 players, 2 are all-in)

I initially called the pre flop raise even though I was OOP with KQs in multi way pot as I felt I had good equity if I hit a flush draw/straight draw. I knew when the flop came down A high that my opponent was ahead most of the time, I checked to the pre flop aggressor to see if he would make c bet, which was larger than what I was expecting and had I just been on a flush draw probably would have folded to it. However I felt that as I was drawing to the Nut flush and straight with GSFD I was in a position to check raise and stack off if needed. What s your evaluation of the situation and hand please?

      Cheers

      Rich

      Hi Rich,

Preflop: looks fine. We can also try a 3-bet to steal the pot.

Postflop: As played I think it's a mistake to stack off on the flop. You want as many people in the pot as possible so calling is the best play.

We also rarely ever have FE because MP bets big into so many guys.

ok thanks not the best play I guess, just didn't want him to call and fold id a club came down. I regretted it in any case. The call would have been the much better play in hindsight and would have enabled me to get away from the hand also.

      Yes,

Calling allows others to join to and increases our potential return and allows us to get away if we miss turn.
