      Hi

Villain is unknown, I think he was not fishy (multiple entries).

Now let's talk about preflop first.

What is our gameplan in BB vs CO 3x openraise?
As far as Ax goes my plan would be:
      Flat A8s-AQs, ATo-AQo
      3B A2s-A7s, A6o-A9o

What is your gameplan and what is wrong with mine please?

Now what is our plan on a flop where we have little equity vs calls? We can't fire a turnbarrel with much pleasure. Check/folding sucks too :D . Don't know, we have to give up some hands ofcourse and this hand is maybe better to check/fold on this flop.

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with 9 :diamond: A :spade:

Hero bets $6, CO calls $6

Hero checks, CO bets $11, Hero folds

      Hi Farma,

I'm curious, how do you build your 3-bet range versus unknown players?

What do you expect people in todays 50nl SH games to do IP when facing a 3-bet? Bend over and fold most of the time or call/4-bet a decent amount?

I'd go with the "call/4-bet a decent amount". If that's the case, why would I want to 3-bet a hand that has somewhat poor playability postflop and is dominated pretty well by a decent part of his calling range?

Why 3-bet A9o and not A5o? Is there such a huge difference between them? In fact A2o would get us in less trouble if we floped an Ax.

      Against a wide calling range of JJ-22, AQs-A8s, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, AQo-ATo, KQo there's only about a 3% difference in equity between A9o and A5o.

With offsuite aces we also rarely flop equity that we can use to barrel multiple streets so I think, that despite having a blocker, these offsuite aces will get you in more trouble than not.

Now back to the hand in question this is a typical flop where I doubt you will get many folds so if we bet flop we better bet more streets, but wait a second we lack equity (and I wonder why) :s_biggrin:

      Nice, it looks good.

      Keep it up.

Building solid ranges is the start to a solid game plan.
