Villain looks reg (4entries). No other info.

What's the plan? Hand too weak to lead an he has too much sd value?

Bluff on which rivers if we bet turn?

      Hey,

Defending here is very very close... I'd say it's a fold, epsecially in Zoom. The thing is in order to call here profitably and use all the correct calcs of pot odds you need no rake. As soon as you realise NL50 rake is too high percentage wise, you might end up with a bad call here and basically both of you lose to the rake because you bloat pots too often.

With the preflop call, I like to consider flop lead and vs a check back you can lead turn. Your goal is to make him fold air mostly. In your spot, I would lead clubs and Q for sure.. apart from that, 9 and below should still be OK to bluff. You need some info on what he cbets because what he cbets is not in his turn range here so you can adjust better that way.

      Hi Farmar.

Don't know if my input is wanted/needed but as a default I'd bet almost every non-club on the river since I expect him to bet any K/T on the flop for value vs. draws, and for him to call the turn many Ax and any hand with a club in it that are all folding at river when they miss. This is readless ofc and not always a spot I think betting twice is good.

Hey did not consider rake or anything.

We made a post about this

      BB defend vs BTN minr

and I thought Q8o was fine to defend with.. Ifs even defends Q5o I think.

And thanks for the input ains

Yeah, I know the thread. There are 2 problems:
      1) rake is higher at these stakes
      2) you are not IFS :f_biggrin:

The second one can be improved ofc and you will be able to make such calls but first one remains a problem. Apart from that, you need to compare to what BU range does your opponent open, not just the odds you get. I think Q8o has OK high card to defend against weak players/weak ranges if we disconsider the rake but when we add that we have to be quite careful since our edge for calling is very small anyway. We basically cut our losses usually from the 1bb that is posted to less than 1bb but we almost never go into the green with the bottom of our range unless we are just super crushers.
