      Hello

i know this is prob a dumb question( not that this ever stops me asking them :f_biggrin: )

But why do people play HU coinflip poker at party? (i dont know if other sites have this game. ) I'm just interested to know what the attraction to these games would be, and surely if its a zero sum game then with rake it must be minus EV ? Am I missing something? ?(

      I don't think you're missing anything, it's clearly -EV.

      Here are my thoughts:

      1) These players are dumb

      2) They are micro players on tilt

      Cheers,

There was a post about a month ago of someone on lock poker doing these flips 8 hours a day. It turned out he was doing a rake race competition to win a WSOP package and other things which in total almost 100k. That i think is the only example when HU flips would be +EV

      same why players play roullete.

But actuyally the roullete has such low 'rake' that for fun even I am consideing to play it (at real casino) then the computer cannot adjust payout :)

for 1$ you loose 3 cents, so thats not much if you go to play for fun with a beer :) (I did not do the match but heard that payout is 97%)

This is what I thought may be the case! I guess the game is minus EV but if you need to clear a bonus ie you are a getting close and you dont have time to play then this would be an alternative too.

Thanks for all your replies, I noticed them at party and thought they seemed like a strange game, next time im on monkey tilt I know where to head :f_biggrin:
