Was xing to get a free card on turn as I don't think the 5 gives us much fold equity after he calls on the dry flop. When he xs river he is going for a cheap showdown here so he most likely has no strong queen, no set and no overpair and no two pairs. His most likely holdings were missed gutshots or pocket pairs and I thought a decent bet on the river would be able to get him off these hands.

      Hello,

      3betting preflop is good here.

Once SB coldcalls, I would check back this flop. I don't think we have enough fold equity here to justify a bet and if we bet here we would have to bet on multiple streets here.

As played, if we check back the turn, I can't see a reason to bet the river here. We can really get him off a made hand since we don't represent anything here.

      Best,
      Plamen

Hello, thanks for the review. Never thought about checking such a dry flop here as PFR but I guess it makes sense as opponents range is heavily weighted towards mid pocket pairs which aren't folding on this flop. Do you agree that if we do bet flop though betting turn is better than betting river?

Also as you advocate checking flop I guess you fold when opponent bets and bet when opponent checks?

      Hey,

Yeah, if we bet the flop then betting the turn is recommended since we want to put pressure on his weaker part of the range.

If we check and he bets the turn, I'd fold.
