      Hi,

This guys standard preflop line was always bet 10c. So I was thinking that with any half decent hand such as this one I am 3beting him. I would 3bet him with a range like JTs+, 66+, almost any ace.
The rest of the table was very tight so I 3bet most of the tim in mp or later position regardles of his pos.

His flop line was 60% of the time a small donkbet and fold to a raise.

Do you think such a play is good aggainst a player like this?

It worked out this time, he stayed for an hour and I won about 12$ off him :D

      Hello,

      Just fold preflop.

We don't really want to 3bet here A5o here, since it plays quite badly postflop and we want to just value 3bet against this guy.

If he folds a lot when he bets small, I like raising here.

As played, once we hit trips on the turn, I'd go for a bigger raise to maximize my value against Kx and draws.

On the river I would raise around $2.8 to milk his Kx.

      Best,
      Plamen

yes but I 3bet with A5 as a value bet, thinking that I am well ahead of his range even with cards like this,
and because almost noone was playing except this guy and me, and he played almost every possible hand with a 10c raise

from 179 hands his vpip/pfr is really high but still I would agree with kymupa
      it's really close to 3bet with A5o

Even if we assume he is opening 68% you are piratically flipping:

      22+,A2s+,K2s+,Q7s+,J7s+,T7s+,97s+,86s+,76s,65s,32s,A2o+,K2o+,Q7o+,J7o+,T7o+,96o+,85o+,74o+,64o+,54o,32o - 46.82%
      As5c - 53.18%

It's just too marginal spot to 3bet.

Against these guys we can 3-bet our good equity hands with ease, they are calling way too light. If we want to play hands like this (I don't like it that much), we should play quite straight forward and value bet him with hit.

Even though equity wise we are ahead of his range, the hand doesn't end preflop (we have to play postflop as well), so I'd pick hands with good playability postflop to 3bet here.

Having this said, A5o plays quite poor postflop, since we either hit a bottom pair, or a marginal top pair, and with both of those hands we can't really comfortably value bet. In addition, we can hit any good draws so by 3betting here we are only putting ourselves into a tough spot, and we are likely to value bet ourselves against a hand like A9 or so.
