Plan was bet/fold FTR for value protection. OTR I think I should still bet/fold as there is value to be had from overpairs that will just call the R but won't raise me.

      Thanks

      Hello,

I'm not exactly sure if this is a good bet on the river since FD got there, 6x also, 4x has a straight, so even against this guy I would be inclined to just check/fold here since I'm not sure if he calls worse here.

      Best,
      Plamen

      Thanks Plamen

I really hate check folding but I am never check/calling here either in this kind of spot vs this type of player. I think against such a passive player he will often call down with 77-JJ here and we would be missing some value on the river and possibly allowing ourselves to be bluffed if he mistakenly starts value betting the river with weaker PP's.

If you don't like betting 1/2 pot what about a blockbet/fold line about 1/3 pot. We are rarely going to get bluff raised by such an opponent here IMO and maybe get some thin value.

      =)

Well, he might consider folding these pocket pairs (or at least the lower ones like 77-99) from times to times so lets say they fold 50% of the times with 77-99.

So we are left with 21 combos to search value from. The problem here is that there are a lot more better hands here than those 21 combos that we are looking for value from, so we can't really go for a bet there.
