      Hey Nipbourne,

      It's true that the A is a great card in that it increases your absolute hand strength.

      However, far more important is the fact that it is a bad card for villain's range. If he held some type of Kx he is not going to pay off a close to pot sized river bet. It's unlikely villain has an Ace with only 1 left in the deck. There is also the possibility villain holds QT or has backed into a diamond flush, in which case you are practically donating to him here.

      A more appropriate sizing would be $3.40 or so in this spot. We definitely want to value bet according to our opponent's range rather than the strength of our hand.

      Yeah, bet/fold. Unlikely he will raise worse than a flush vs 3 barrels. Maybe at worst a straight. Unlikely to see him raising AK with the flush out there, not to mention it's blocked pretty hard.
