      After about 50 hands villain was a 19/14 with a post-flop AF of 3.3

I think my options were to 5bet shove PF or call hope for favourable flop. (or fold??)

Only thing I beat here that might be in his range is QQ and 99 and AJ.

Poker Stars, $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

      BTN: $5 (100 bb)
      SB: $6.33 (126.6 bb)
      Hero (BB): $5.19 (103.8 bb)
      UTG: $6.43 (128.6 bb)
      MP: $4.34 (86.8 bb)
      CO: $2.57 (51.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A K
UTG raises to $0.20, 4 folds, Hero raises to $0.50, UTG raises to $1.48, Hero calls $0.98

      Flop: ($2.98) T K J (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $4.95 and is all-in, Hero folds

      Results:
      $2.98 pot ($0.12 rake)
      Final Board: T K J
Hero mucked A K and lost (-$1.48 net)
UTG mucked and won $2.86 ($1.38 net)

      Hi.

Preflop: Firstly the 3b size is too small, I'll make it 60 cents here. Secondly, don't 3bet if you are not willing to jam here. Thirdly, calling is not a good option vs a tight 4betting range, it's just really hard to play. Lastly, I would not 4bet vs a tight UTG range as you would just isolate yourself vs better hands.

Flop: You hit top pair and now you fold? I don't really get this play. Definitely calling here. If you felt that villain's range was so strong preflop you should have just folded (and probably shouldn't even have 3betted in the first place).

      Thanks.

      Thanks for the feedback, mbml

I think I would have called much more easily on a KTx or KJx board. I requested time on this one and tried to think of how equity is affected by the gutshots or other draws in his range. Couldn't quite figure it out, though. Just got scared off by what I saw as an ugly flop - though I see now how my play didn't really make sense.

One more thing, the 4bet size is really huge so you should never have a calling range here. You either push or fold. Calling 4bets with semi-strong hands only makes sense if your opponent makes small 4bets.

In general if you are not happy to 5bet vs a 4bet, you should avoid making a 3bet in the first place. It just makes life so much easier.
