      I think it's fine, he does have worse Jx and he might show now and then some stupidity.

      The Baluga Theorem said that you have to re-evaluate the strength of your TP hands, but here you have trips so already it's a bit different. Apart from that, games have changed, people are not as passive imo.. they don't go crazy but you can call the top of your range a lot more often than before where you should have folded anything but the nuts.

      Given the pot odds and your hand I think calling is fine. He will have a few worse Jx, 1-2 FD combos imo and some of the time he is just going a bit bonkers with 88 or so..
