      What are you trying to make him fold or what are you trying to get value from?

      I think 3 barreling there will be +EV in general if we don't know your hand because your opponent won't hit that board too well, plus river is a very good scare card. That said, depending on your aggression levels, you might get a call from worse than J9, sometimes you might make a hand like A9, TT fold.

      Your river bet is basically what aejones referred to initially as a merge: a bet that sometimes makes better fold and sometimes gets called by worse.
