He is barreling wide so I call preflop. Would it be ok to 3bet? He could probably call with any PP, or suited connectors which I dominate.

I planned to check raise turn. On river it seems to me that he has air, or a middle pair so from time to time he could call my bet (the pot stays small) and sometimes he could bluff again or value bet e.g 8x, so I planned to raise. Probably vs this hands it ends up the same (he folds to raise), so it is better to donk river? I hoped he would call raise because my line looks as pure bluff.

Do you think he was value betting river so large, or trying to fold my 9x? Also when he goes all in, I didnt get it if he is value betting or trying to fold my air

      Hi,

Preflop 3bet can be OK imo. Definitely he can call with worse like you said, though he also calls with better and has position.

Regarding river, if he had a trully good value hand he bets the turn imo, basically any 9x, TT+ hand. We can discount that once he checks turn.

On the river, if you bet into a range that does not contain TT+, nor 9x you probably can't get called too often. He usually will have some air he gave up on imo so checking to let him bluff is best. If he slowplayed something you get more money in anyway.. if he has overpair by any change he bets it anyway so you don't miss value when he did something unexpected.

Would you call river with 44 or 88? What about A2?
I think with A2 or 44 it would be just bluff catching since he represents only FH

44 I would probably call... he opened BU so he can have some 82s type hand that raises for value.. A2 is hard to say, I've made nittier folds so it would depend a lot on who opponent is, and, although not idea, my emotional state.. this is subtle tilt that imo affects a lot of people, deciding to call or fold in such a close spot is usually affected a lot by emotions in play, even though the player is not a hard tilter.
