I raised in the SB hoping to steal really. When he called i couldn't have been happier with the flop.

I figured I was way ahead so I checked hoping he would bet, or to allow him to hit something on the turn. When he bet I called as I thought he either thought I was giving up or he had a pair.

First question: Is it a good idea to check raise the flop there? I don't really understand the point of check raising as it seems to induce folds most of the time.

The Jack on the turn was a bad card for me as suddenly there were tons of draws possible and he might have hit a straight with Q10...he might have other draws... But he might have hit two lower pair. I checked hoping he would check, quite frankly.

River...almost a pot sized bet. I contemplated folding as I thought he likely had a straight....but I called.

Should I have bet the flop or the turn?

      Hi Edukator,

      What happened to the formatting?

Preflop: why are we min raising in the SB? I'd make it 3x

Preflop: I don't like slowplaying here for no reason at all. We have little info on the guy so we are better off valuebetting ourselves.

I would start betting big as the board is connected and bet 3 streets. As played we should ck/raise the flop versus his bet or even the turn.
