SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 9:diamond: A:heart:

fold, fold, Hero raises to 2.4 BB, fold, fold, BB calls 1.4 BB

      4-tabling, 10/10/10h. :f_biggrin:

i'm not too thrilled about his big river bet when i hold A, but this is just the absolutely perfect runout to calldown i guess?
turn comes with a set blocker + i have a flush blocker myself.

do we raise flop with A9o?

BB shows K:heart: 8:heart: (Flush, King High) (Pre 39%, Flop 68%, Turn 75%)
Hero mucks 9:diamond: A:heart: (Two Pair, Nines and Threes) (Pre 61%, Flop 32%, Turn 25%)
      BB wins 56.52 BB

      noted ofc

      Hey T,

I'm more of a nit and would fold river.. I don't see enough bluffs in your opponent's range here. He is tight pre so would call with some good pairs and medium connectors so will have flushes and overpairs in his range imo. His bluff range could be KQ with a heart maybe? Smth like that but how often would he fire all the way? Seems unlikely to me so I just take the fold.. So far it's been working. :)

      yeah, i see.

what is your opinion on the Microstakes River Theorem? :D
"whenever you get to the river and face a big bet from a microstakes regular, you can fold all your 1pair or worse hands regardless of the previous action."

this is something that was made up in a conversation today. ofc there are exceptions but seems mostly pretty true imo :P

      I agree with it.

jbpatzer posted in his blog a while ago that on the river big bet = big hand after me and TT constantly explained to him how people don't bluff as much as he thinks. You will not be wrong to fold very often against big bets on micros.
