      Hey L,

      You have good equity and also very good showdown value. Unfortunately, you cannot value raise here imo since your opponent's range will always have too much equity. When you raise you make him fold stuff that you crush and he has too many flushes, T9, J8, J7, 78, etc type hands. The safer approach is to call but you could sometimes be against someone against whom it's best to raise here.

      Lets say i call and he shove 17 into 14 on the river blank. Hero?
      River comes Q/K/8/7/J and he bets 2/3. Hero?

      seems like a super ez fold to a shove, probably still fold to a normal bet because i think it's likely this guy would play Jx passively. if he bets like close to halfpot then we call

      Yeah, fold to shove or big bet, call smaller bets because it changes his range from very nutted to adding a lot of JT, J9, T8, etc type hands.
