Just started playing online poker so 2NL is probably the correct stakes at first? Been running into some interesting hands last session.

      $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Holdem
      5 Players
      Hand Conversion Powered by

      HERO (UTG) ($1.87) 94bb
      CO ($2) 100bb
      BTN ($2.28) 114bb
      SB ($2.32) 116bb
      BB ($1.22) 61bb

      Pre-Flop: ($0.03, 5 players) HERO is UTG J:heart: Q:heart:
HERO raises to $0.06, 1 fold, BTN raises to $0.18, SB calls $0.17, 1 fold, HERO calls $0.12

      Flop: 3:club: 6:heart: 7:heart: ($0.49, 3 players)
SB checks, HERO checks, BTN bets $0.42, SB folds, HERO goes all-in $1.69

The BTN was a 44/31 maniac who always bets. My reasoning for the shove is that I would really hate to fold here and calling might cause some serious problems on the turn.

      HERO (BTN) ($3.48) 174bb
      SB ($3.71) 186bb
      BB ($9.24) 462bb

      Pre-Flop: ($0.03, 6 players) HERO is BTN K:club: K:heart:
UTG checks, 2 folds, HERO raises to $0.08, 2 folds, UTG calls $0.06

      Flop: Q:club: Q:heart: 3:heart: ($0.17, 2 players)
UTG checks, HERO bets $0.16, UTG calls $0.16

      Turn: 2:spade: ($0.49, 2 players)
UTG checks, HERO bets $0.40, UTG calls $0.40

      River: 7:spade: ($1.29, 2 players)
      UTG checks, HERO bets $1.36

This was the first hand on the table so the opponent is an unknown. Any thoughts?

      Hi Infobetsaaja,

      Welcome to our evaluation forums.

Yes, 2nl would be the best limit to start at until you get more familiarized with the game.

Also, for these evaluation boards, if you can, try to keep one hand per post.

Hand 1: Ideally you want to make sure that your stack is always at 100 BB.

We should avoid calling preflop and play OOP with such a hand but if he was indeed a big maniac raising a lot calling is not terrible.

And as played, as long as we can get him to fold K high or A high your shove is fine.

Hand 2: At 2nl we can isolate to 5x as well (10c) preflop and as played the board is really dry so a lot of pairs can still call the river. It's thin because the villain is unknown and can have some Qx but I think it's ok overall for the limit.

As a side note, when you leave a reply, don't forget to hit the advise judge to take another look button.

      Best regards,
