      Hey, villain unknown

      cbet > c/call?
he could be fishy, so I'm not sure how often he floats.
I think fishier players don't like folding paired boards so I probably have a fair bit of value.
Also obv 44-77 probably don't fold to one bet.

OTT do you keep betting? since our hand isn't strong I thought it would be hard to get to SD so I just bet :D

Maybe I could bluffcatch once & fold river?

      BTN: $69.70 (139.4 bb)
      SB: $18.30 (36.6 bb)
      BB: $99.85 (199.7 bb)
      UTG: $17.50 (35 bb)
      Hero (MP): $52.47 (104.9 bb)
      CO: $35.15 (70.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 8 8
UTG folds, Hero raises to $1.50, CO calls $1.50, 3 folds

      Flop: ($3.75) 3 9 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $2.50, CO calls $2.50

      Turn: ($8.75) J (2 players)
Hero bets $5, CO raises to $10, Hero folds

      Results:
      $18.75 pot ($0.84 rake)
      Final Board: 3 9 9 J
Hero mucked 8 8 and lost (-$9 net)
CO mucked and won $17.91 ($8.91 net)

flop - i would bet once but not so big, 2 dollars would do. its a pretty dry board we can get him to fold alot of hands like TJ or he could call them, both are good results, we either fold out his equity or get value. and we prevent ourselves from getting bluffed out with the better hand later.

turn - i wouldnt bet here, what worse can call? TK for a GS? i prefer check/calling. if he floated with something i think he could bet this turn but he wouldnt bet twice so i would just c/c once and give up.

      Thanks :)

Do you take the bet flop/check call line with much of your range here? or mostly just something like 77-88? Maybe even something like AK has enough SD value to c/c turn?

I'll bet turn with hands I think are not good enough to call but have equity and likely behind for example TKO any backdoor flush QT gutshot type hands.

With AK it plays like 88 because it's a bluff catcher and I don't expect him to turn lower pocket pairs into a bluff.

I'll checkcall with bluff catchers 66-88 Jx ssince we can't get much value on this dry run out
